1. katebrezzy asked: I loved seeing your Halloween sketches today! It was so much fun to follow along. Plus they all came out amazing and scary.

Thanks so much! That’s what I was going for, I’m glad it worked out, haha. I’ll be sure to do more sketch-fests in the future.

  2. phobs-heh asked: Is your Temujin comic gonna be online?? *sorry for my english*

OHHH MY GOD UH HI. I’ve seen your art everywhere! There’ll be a pledge on my Kickstarter (I’ll be adding that on Monday) that will include a full-color, digital version of the 138-page graphic novel, to be released December 2013. I’ve thought about making a website to perhaps upload a few pages at a time of the graphic novel. I’ll have to look into that though, depending on the success of my Kickstarter…

YOU GUYS: as I’m sure you’ve seen, Phobs is amazing and has also done art of Temujin and his family (beautiful, beautiful art). I’m so glad I’m not the only one obsessed with Mongolian history!

  3. june-the-archivist asked: just want to tell you you're an amazing artist! your art is full of character! If you have a disney exhibit i cant wait to see rapunzel, my favorite :))

Thank you so much :) I was just looking though my copy of The Art of Tangled! It’s great eye candy for anyone interested in working as a concept artist for animation.

  4. laurelss asked: Any advice or wisdom to those who are struggling with confidence in choosing art/design as a major?

A few years ago, I was in the same boat, and all I did was work incredibly hard on making my work better. I took life drawing classes and surrounded myself with many hard-working artists. I was lucky to have had great teachers and peers who encouraged and inspired me along the way. Yes, you can always find inspiration and advice on the internet, but there’s nothing like personal interaction with artists to stimulate your work.

From my experience, my major made an impact on the work I create and prepared myself for the professional art world. If it wasn’t for being in my art major, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Going into your art/design major, know that it’s going to be challenging. It may not teach you everything you need to know, but it’ll at least help you get started on identifying yourself as an artist. When you’re aware of that, you’ll know exactly what you need to do to improve your work and stand out!

  5. lylias asked: Do you have a deviantart account?

Hahaha, I do…but it’s deactivated. I haven’t really used it since high school, and any current work I have is here on my Tumblr, so there’s no need for me to keep it. I’m slightly ashamed of my old art on DeviantArt, but then again, who doesn’t feel that way about their old art?
